Hello, my name is Elaine Sheldon. I was born in New Orleans on July 12,1951.
My father passed away when I was very young. Due to so many children in my
family, my mother needed me to baby-sit while she worked to support our family.
So, I had to quit school in the seventh grade.

I was married in Long Beach, Washington on May 25, 1987 to my children's
father. I am the mother of three children, who are all grown up now, Lonnie,
Roxie, and Delores. When I separated in June of 1988, I moved in with my
mother and younger sister, Elizabeth. My sister had cancer and I stayed with
her until her death in March of 1989. I divorced my abusive husband in Feb 1990.

In 1983 I was told that I had Multiple Sclerosis, which I have battled ever since.
I have had several surgeries. I moved to Vancouver, Washington in November
1989 for better medical care.

I have tried to work at many places, but because I have M.S. and lack of training,
I was always turned down. The jobs I have performed in the past were waitress,
factory work, maid, school bus driver, and dancing. I've always had to work for
minimum wage.

I have tried to get help in Washington State D.V.R. programs, but was told they
couldn't do anything for me. In April of 1983, I attended Astoria College and
obtained my G.E.D. I tried to go back to school in 1983 but, due to lack of a good
baby-sitter, transportation and funds, I had to drop out.

My current short-range goal is to make my business successful. My long-term goal
is to obtain a B.A. in Arts and Sciences. I want to minor in Computer Sciences.

I met and married my present husband, Marv, on July 12, 1995. He is a very wonderful
person to me. He encourages me to be all that I can. I have paintings for sale and
I raise and sell Pomeranians
